What Plus will never be

The fine print
Subscriptions are handled end-to-end by Stripe. Your card never touches our servers. And cancelling takes two taps in the portal, effective at the end of the period you’ve paid for. Your data is never the product on either plan; the privacy policy is the same for everyone.

- Is the movie diary really free forever?
- Yes. Unlimited logging, ratings, vibe tags, notes and watch dates, the full Letterboxd import, export any time, watchlist, backlog, stats and Wrapped are all free, with no film limit and no trial clock. Logging your own movie life should never sit behind a paywall.
- What exactly does Plus add?
- Asks go from 10 a month to 30 a day, your daily picks are composed against your whole diary instead of the local engine, and you get the daily-picks email. That is the whole difference, Plus exists because reading a diary properly costs real money per person, and the people who use it heavily should be the ones funding it.
- Why is there a limit on the free plan at all?
- Because every ask has a real cost we pay. Ten a month is enough to feel it think and decide whether it is worth paying for; it is a real taste of the product rather than a locked door.
- Can I cancel any time?
- Yes, in two taps from Settings. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and your diary carries on exactly as before on the free plan.
- What happens to my films if I stop paying?
- Nothing is taken away. Everything you logged stays, stays editable, and stays exportable as JSON or a Letterboxd-compatible CSV, however big your library is and whatever plan you are on. Losing access to your own history is not a business model we are willing to have. What you lose is the ability to import beyond 500 films and the deeper analysis, not the films themselves.
- Is there a family or student discount?
- Not yet. The yearly plan at $24 works out at $2 a month, which is the cheapest rate on offer.
