What you get

The stats your diary already contains.

Films and average

Films logged, total watches and your average rating, for all time or any single year.

How you rate

Your full star distribution and the rating you give most, so a 3.5 from you means what it means.

Decades

The decades you watch most, and how that compares with the ones you rate best.

Highest rated

Your best-rated films, or your best of a chosen year.

When you watch

The days of the week your diary actually happens on.

Runtime

Your runtime sweet spot, plus the longest and shortest films you sat through.

You vs the crowd

The film where your rating and the public average disagree the most.

Year in Film

A recap of each year: the film that led it, your own words about a film, month by month, rewatches and decades, exportable as images.

A stat appears only once your diary holds enough films for it to be true, so a thin year shows fewer sentences rather than shaky ones.

Three steps

From Letterboxd export to stats.

  1. 1. Export. Signed in on letterboxd.com, open the Export your data option (it is also in Settings) and download the ZIP. Keep it zipped; that file is the whole move.
  2. 2. Import. Create a free Kinolog account and upload the ZIP. Ratings, diary dates, rewatches, reviews, tags, likes and your watchlist come across, and anything that cannot be matched with confidence waits for you to check instead of being guessed. Your first Letterboxd history comes in full. Repeat bulk imports are limited on Free; Plus removes the repeat-import ceiling.
  3. 3. Read. Open Stats for all time or a single year, and Year in Film for each year in your diary.

Stats are the start

The same diary reads your taste and picks tonight’s film.

Numbers say what you watched. Kinolog also reads why: the directors, eras and kinds of film you rate above your own average, each claim with the films behind it, and recommendations from your Letterboxd ratings that never suggest a film you have logged.

Keep Letterboxd for the community if you love it. Many people keep both: Letterboxd for friends and lists, Kinolog for a private diary that reads itself back. The honest comparison says where each one wins.

Questions people ask.

Can I see my Letterboxd stats without Pro?

Letterboxd's own all-time and yearly stats pages are part of its paid Pro plan. Kinolog's stats and yearly recap are free: export your data from Letterboxd, import the ZIP into a free Kinolog account, and the stats are built from the imported diary. Kinolog is independent and not affiliated with Letterboxd.

Does importing change anything on my Letterboxd account?

No. The export is a copy of your data that you download yourself. Kinolog reads that file and never writes anything back to Letterboxd, so you can keep using both.

Which stats does Kinolog show?

Films logged, your average rating and how you use the star scale, the decades you watch most, your highest-rated films, the days of the week you watch, your runtime sweet spot, your longest and shortest sits, and the film where you and the crowd disagree most. Every view can be narrowed to a single year, and each year gets a Year in Film recap.

Is it really free?

Yes. Stats, the yearly recap, unlimited logging and export are free on every plan. Your first Letterboxd import comes in full; repeat bulk imports on Free stop once the account holds 500 imported films. Plus ($2.99/month or $24/year) adds predicted stars before you watch with their evidence, every supported Taste pattern, unlimited Letterboxd import and higher recommendation limits.
